Privacy Policy — AOIS
Status: this product is in development and not yet open to the public. This policy describes how it is designed and what is built so far, and will be confirmed before launch.
Effective date: to be set at launch
This Privacy Policy explains what information AOIS (Africa Opportunity Intelligence System, formerly Enzz Fursa) collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. AOIS is operated by Enzz Technologies Limited ("Enzz", "we", "us"), Nakuru, Kenya.
- Service: AOIS, by USSD, SMS, WhatsApp and web
- Website: https://enzz.co.ke
- Contact: support@enzz.co.ke
1. What AOIS is, and is not
AOIS tells people about work, gigs and training near them, and tells employers about people who match what they need. It is an information and matching service.
- AOIS does not place workers, act as an employment agency, or take a fee when someone is hired. You contact the employer, or the worker, directly.
- Jobseekers never pay, for anything. If anyone asks you to pay to register, to be matched or to "confirm a job" through AOIS, it is not us. Report it.
- AOIS does not ask for your National ID, and does not use fingerprints, face scans or any other biometric check.
- AOIS does not score listings as "safe" or "risky". A Verified badge on an employer means only that their phone number was confirmed and an AOIS admin reviewed their account. It does not mean a job is genuine.
2. Who this policy covers
- Jobseekers, including people looking for casual work and people who want to learn a skill.
- Employers, from a household hiring for a day to a business or a county government.
- Teams of jobseekers who take on work together.
- People named in public listings we collect, such as the contact person on a county vacancy notice.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Jobseekers
| Information | Examples | When |
|---|---|---|
| Profile | Name, phone number, county and area | Registration, by USSD or web |
| Skills and interests | What you can do, and what you want to learn | When you add them |

| Matches | Which opportunities you were matched to and told about, and when | Automatically |
| Work history on AOIS | Jobs an employer recorded you as hired for | When an employer marks a job filled |
| Ratings | Star ratings and comments employers give you, and ones you give them | After a completed job |
| Certificates | Courses you say you completed, tied to a training listing you were matched to | When you record one |

| Listings | Title, description, skills needed, pay, location, dates, status | When you post or edit a listing |

3.3 Listings we collect from public sources
To bring opportunities into one place we collect public notices: county government vacancy pages and the national catalogue of TVET courses. For each one we record where it came from and on what basis we may use it. We keep the organisation's own published contact details. We do not collect private groups, private accounts or personal details of individuals who are not the advertiser.
3.4 Collected automatically
| Information | Purpose |
|---|---|
| USSD session details | Your phone number and the menu choices you make, received from the mobile network through our USSD provider, so the service works on any phone |
| Delivery records | Whether an SMS or WhatsApp message was sent to you |
| IP address and basic request data | For web use; security and delivering the service |
AOIS does not track your location. It uses the county and area you tell it.
4. How we use information
- to match jobseekers to opportunities by skill, interest and county, and tell them;
- to show employers the people matched to their listing;
- to recommend training for skills a jobseeker wants to learn;
- to build reputation from confirmed phone numbers, ratings and completed jobs;
- to confirm an employer's phone number and review employer accounts;
- to avoid sending the same person the same opportunity twice;
- to review listings that users report, and remove them;
- to produce statistics about work and skills by county;
- to provide support, keep the service secure, and comply with the law.
We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
Statistics. We may share or sell statistics about the labour market, such as demand for a skill in a county over time, with county governments, NGOs and researchers. These are always totals. They never include names, phone numbers or anything that could identify a person.
5. Artificial intelligence
Matching in AOIS today is done by fixed rules, not by AI. We plan to add AI features, such as understanding an employer's request written in plain words, using models from other companies. When we do, we will send only what the feature needs, we will not send data to train those models, and we will update this policy first. AOIS will not make decisions about you by AI alone.
6. Who we share information with
| Recipient | What is shared | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| An employer you were matched to | Your name, skills, area, rating and number of completed jobs. Your phone number is given so they can reach you about that opportunity | So work can be offered |
| A jobseeker matched to your listing | The listing and your published contact details | So they can apply to you directly |
| Members of your team | Your name and that you are a member | Working together |
| Africa's Talking | Phone number and message text; USSD sessions | Sending SMS and WhatsApp messages and running the USSD service |
| Aiven | The AOIS database | Database hosting |
| Our hosting provider | Requests to the service | Running the service |
Ratings you write are shown to the person you rated and count toward their public reputation.
Our own staff. AOIS staff see names and contact details partly hidden by default. Seeing a full phone number or email address requires a named staff member with that permission, a written reason, and is recorded in a log that cannot be edited through the app. The number of such views per person is limited each hour.
We also share information when the law requires it, or in a business transfer, in which case this policy continues to apply.
Sharing with other Enzz products. We plan to let school competencies verified in Enzz Taalo appear on an AOIS profile. This will happen only with the explicit agreement of the learner, or their parent or guardian if under 18.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Codes and staff keys are stored only in scrambled form. USSD and SMS travel over the mobile network and are as private as an ordinary text message, so AOIS never asks you to send a PIN or password by SMS. No system is completely secure.
8. How long we keep information
We keep your profile while you use AOIS. Listings expire automatically after their closing date. When you ask us to delete your account we delete your profile, skills, interests and contact details; ratings you gave stay with the person you rated, without your name; records we must keep by law are kept only as long as required.
9. Your choices and rights
- Change how you are contacted, or stop messages, from the USSD menu or the web.
- Correct your profile from the USSD menu or the web.
- Delete your account by contacting support@enzz.co.ke or calling 0702 737 117 from the phone number on the account. We act within 30 days.
- Report a listing you believe is false or asks for money, by contacting us on the details below.
- Employers can mark a listing filled, expired or removed at any time.
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 you also have the right to be informed, to access your data, to object to or restrict processing, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, and to receive your data in a portable format. Contact support@enzz.co.ke; we respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya (https://www.odpc.go.ke).
10. International transfers
Our database and messaging providers may process data outside Kenya. Where this happens we rely on safeguards permitted under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. Before AOIS opens in another country, we will publish the terms that apply there.
11. Children
AOIS is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly register anyone younger. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we will delete the account.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the effective date and, for significant changes, tell you by the channel you chose.
